FRAGMENTOS
From the meaningful perspective of the word “Fragment,” we can interpret a fragment as a constituent part of a whole. The word is derived from the Latin fragmentum, which can be translated as “part of something.”
This exhibition presents works by artists from the region considered part of the heart of the American continent. It includes a selection of works—among them sculptures, ceramics, paintings, and 3D prints—that are representative of our region’s current art scene. This collection of artistic works is a tangible representation—a fragment—of the essence of what it means to be Central American, presented through diverse perspectives and techniques that interconnect to offer a multisensory and pluriversal experience. Each piece is a world unto itself, yet within this space they come together to offer us glimpses of multiple perspectives on a shared reality.
Through the works on display, we seek to prompt reflection on diversity and differences—and on how we are constantly exposed to them in our daily lives. Life and existence are a repertoire of emotions, sensations, and experiences; each one is distinct from the others, and that is where their value lies—in their own uniqueness. Yet when blended together, the experience becomes an unexpected combination.
Desde la perspectiva significativa de la palabra Fragmento, podemos interpretar que un fragmento es una parte constitutiva de un todo. Es una palabra derivada del latín Fragmentum, que puede traducirse como “parte de algo”.
Esta exposición presenta obras de artistas pertenecientes al área considerada como parte del centro del continente americano. Incluye una selección de obras, entre ellas esculturas, cerámicas, pinturas e impresión 3D, que son representativas de la escena artística actual de nuestra región.Este cúmulo de propuestas artísticas son una representación tangible, un fragmento, de la esencia de lo que significa ser Centroamericano, desde perspectivas y técnicas variables, que se conectan entre sí para ofrecer una experiencia multisensorial, y pluriversal. Cada pieza es un mundo, pero en este espacio se conectan para dejarnos entre ver múltiples perspectivas de una realidad compartida.
A través de los trabajos presentados buscamos llevar a la reflexión sobre la diversidad y las diferencias; y como estamos expuestos a ellas todo el tiempo en nuestro diario vivir. La vida y la existencia son un repertorio de emociones, sensaciones y experiencias; y cada una de ellas es diferente a la otra, es ahí en donde está el valor de cada una, teniendo su propia singularidad, pero que, al mezclarlas, la experiencia se vuelve una combinación inesperada.
